Delete account
Delete your account and your data.
Deleting is done inside the app and takes effect immediately. Here is how, and exactly what it removes.
In short
- Settings → Teacher profile → Delete my account. It takes effect immediately.
- Works the same if you signed in with Facebook or Google. No password needed.
- Everything on our server is erased — account, plan, backup key. Your phone’s gradebook is not.
- A paid plan ends with it, but the store subscription does not. Cancel it in Google Play or the App Store first, or you will keep being charged.
Delete it from the app
Open Gradely, go to Settings, then Teacher profile, and scroll to Delete my account. Type DELETE to confirm. It happens straight away and you are signed out. There is nothing to wait for and no password to enter.
If you signed in with Facebook or Google
The same steps. An account created with Facebook or Google has no password, so none is asked for. Removing Gradely from your Facebook or Google settings only stops that sign-in from working; it does not delete your Gradely account, so delete it in the app as well.
What is deleted
Everything our server holds about you, permanently — not hidden, not anonymised, removed from the database. That is your sign-in, your name, your email address (so you can register with it again), the link to your Facebook or Google account, your plan, and the key your backups are sealed with. Backup files you already saved can never be opened again, by anyone, including us.
What is not
The gradebook on your phone stays exactly as it is; only you can clear that. Google Play or the App Store, which took your payments, keep their own records of them under their own rules. Any days already paid for are lost.
If you are subscribed, cancel first
Deleting your Gradely account does not cancel your subscription. We cannot cancel it for you: it lives in your Google Play or App Store account, and the store keeps charging you every month until you cancel it there. A payment taken after the account is deleted does not reach any Gradely account, so it buys nothing. Cancel before you delete. When your plan is set to renew, the app shows a Manage subscription button above Delete my account, which takes you there. You can also cancel it yourself. On Android: Play Store, your profile picture, Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. On iPhone: Settings, your name, then Subscriptions. If you were charged after deleting your account, cancel the subscription there and ask the store for a refund; refunds are the store’s decision, under its own rules.
Can’t open the app?
Email us from the address on your account and ask for it to be deleted. We will delete it and reply to confirm. If you signed in with Facebook and used a different address there, tell us which Facebook account it was.
